1. Who we are

Ashtro (ashtro.in) is an AI-only astrology chat platform operated from India. Throughout this policy, "Ashtro", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operator of this website. "You" refers to anyone who visits or creates an account on Ashtro.

2. About our AI astrologers

Every astrologer persona on Ashtro — including their name, avatar, and any "years of experience" or specialty shown — is generated by an AI language model. None of them are real people, licensed astrologers, or mental health professionals. Conversations are for entertainment and general self-reflection only and should never replace professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.

3. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account data: your name, email address, and profile photo, provided by Google when you sign in with your Google account.
Chat data: the messages you send to AI astrologer personas, and the AI's replies, so we can maintain your conversation and provide the service.
Wallet & transaction data: your wallet balance, recharge amounts, and a log of chat sessions billed against your wallet. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details — these are handled directly by our payment processor, Razorpay.
Usage data: basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, used to keep the site running reliably.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Third-party services we use

Ashtro is built on the following infrastructure providers, each of which processes limited data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms:

Google (Sign-In): for authentication, so you don't need a separate Ashtro password.
Supabase: our database provider, which stores your account, wallet, and chat data securely.
Netlify: hosts the website and the serverless functions that power chat and billing.
Groq: the AI provider whose models generate astrologer responses. Your chat messages are sent to Groq's API to generate a reply.
Razorpay: processes wallet recharge payments. Ashtro never sees or stores your full card/UPI details.

6. Payments

All wallet recharges are processed through Razorpay, a licensed Indian payment aggregator. Chat sessions are billed per minute directly from your Ashtro wallet balance at the rate shown on each astrologer's profile before you start chatting. Wallet balances are non-transferable between accounts. Refund requests can be sent to the contact address below and are reviewed case by case.

7. Data retention

We retain your account and wallet transaction history for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet accounting and legal obligations. You can request deletion of your chat history at any time (see Your Rights below); some transaction records may be retained longer where required by Indian tax or financial regulations.

8. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and general good practice, you can:

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate account information
Request deletion of your account and associated chat history
Withdraw consent for non-essential processing at any time

9. Children's privacy

Ashtro is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections, database access controls, and row-level security policies — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you not to share sensitive personal, medical, or financial information in chat that you wouldn't want stored.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Ashtro after changes means you accept the revised policy.
